I tested this camera on Mac and Windows laptops and was disappointed with the quality. Despite being 1080p on paper, the image suffers from several issues: 1. The camera clearly applies the "sharp" effect at all times, making all the fine details and edges of objects more visible, creating a very unnatural look. 2. The video stream from the camera also applies heavy compression which does not show up in still images but creates a "blur" effect in the video. Please see the downloaded example video recorded in the windows 10 camera app (they look the same as in the live preview where there should be no additional compression. (The camera manual says it's the MJPG/ 30fps format used, FYI) 3 The camera's field of view is 86 +/- 3 degrees according to the manual, which appears correct, however the camera achieves the field of view with severe fisheye lens distortion, which you can also see in the video (see the blinds move to the right, that's 4. The color balance is bluish, but that can at least be changed in the app's settings (Skype, for example, allows you to disable the automatic white balance and adjust it manually.) The microphone on the camera is a lot nice unusably compressed, volume jumps up and down all over the place like it's trying to detect noise or something, but even if you're talking all the time the audio goes on and s turns off like you're underwater or something. PS: I bought these to compare with a papalook camera (round with a ring of light) and although this camera costs twice as much, it has no "sharp" effect, no fisheye distortion (at about the same FOV), no video compression artifacts, and no bluish cast at default white balance settings. (His mic doesn't work either, and Papalook's camera is 24 fps, not 30 like this one.)
