This product was a big surprise. For the price I expected worse quality than I got. I used to have a pair of inexpensive binoculars that barely sufficed. Most had noticeable chromatic aberrations (bands of color near sharp edges) or other optical defects. These binoculars have none of these flaws. The image is crisp across the field and the eyecups and eyepiece are well constructed to maximize the available field of view. In addition, the focus wheel is very smooth and accurate. Other focus rockers are too coarse for fine focus adjustment. The product has a solid construction and is covered with a very "tough" rubber that is easy to hold on to. The objective lenses are deeply recessed to block stray light and keep them clean. Like all good binoculars, this product is also corrected for the difference between the left and right eye. The small size of binoculars inevitably limits aperture ("night vision") and maximum field of view, but these are the limits of optical physics. rather than a design flaw. However, the handy size means you'll likely take it on a hike, leaving the heavier, bulkier, standard-sized binoculars at home. This product is by far the best budget binoculars I have ever owned.
