I don't think you can get the best sounding and quality subwoofer for the money. I've always loved Carver products and this isn't just an affordable sub. I was looking for a cheap bedroom subwoofer but I am critical of my audio products and always spend more money to get a good product than to buy something I don't like which I consider a waste. That being said, since I've had a good grasp of audio production, music theory, and making music since I was 7, I can tell you I know something. I will speak in layman's terms as best I can and not throw away technical knowledge that most will not understand. I know that music and sound are subjective because we all hear differently, as well as personal preferences. I will start by telling you that the speaker used in this product is simply not a woofer used as a subwoofer meaning they throw bass at it. It is specifically designed and engineered for low tones, and the movement of the cone does not match the normal range of movement of a traditional non-specialized subwoofer speaker. Low-frequency sounds need a lot of air to be heard. The higher the frequency, the less air movement is required. Small loudspeakers are therefore used for very high frequencies. So a good way to reproduce low frequencies has always been to use large speakers, right? but back then we just used the big 18" cone drivers that were common in the '70s. But the demand for smaller, more efficient products has changed the design landscape. Remember, we still have a lot of air to move, so how do we do this with smaller speakers? Well, most typical low end audio speakers are typically used to move the speaker cone back and forth about 1/2". But what if you took a smaller driver and made the cone much wider could move than 1/2"? Viola! more air movement can be achieved! This is the principle behind most good to high end subwoofers today. Carver, one of the pioneers of this theory, is the chief speaker engineer at Sunfire. Now there is other factors, for example, instead of a closed case, a case with holes can move more air, or the use of a passive loudspeaker (passive loudspeaker). cher does not require power from the amplifier) working with an active loudspeaker acts like two loudspeakers, because a passive loudspeaker can also move air, but in a different way. So in the SDS speaker line you get a very compact speaker that moves a lot of air for its size by using a very long moving driver and a passive radiator or driver. What I really like about this design is that it's very musical for a subwoofer. While I believe that if you have very good speakers you don't need a subwoofer for music, but if your stereo sound requires very, very small speakers then a subwoofer that sounds good for both music and movies requires a lot lower tones. played as music. Sometimes you can't hear low sounds, but you can feel them instead. Artificial noise can play music in cheaper subwoofers which is undesirable or if they are not properly tuned to your content and existing speakers. This is a different topic. Anything that is said for money, this sub does it all. Sounds great for music and great for movies. Of course, if you need more power and less power for movies and size isn't that important and you need to spend a few bucks more, get one of the larger SDS subwoofers, but whatever you choose. for this money you will be completely satisfied with any of the sds subs. The Sunfire has a reputation to uphold and is the cheapest subwoofer they make and the quality is by no means cheap. The idea was to offer a high quality subwoofer to those who normally cannot afford one. new product for her. I could talk endlessly about the Class D amp and other specs but I wanted to keep the review short and sweet in case anyone questions the value of this product. I did NOT receive a discount for this review and did not receive a discount. I wanted to give back a great company that offers cheaper products that outperform others in their price points. Thanks to Sunfire and Bob Carver. Carry on in the same spirit. Visit [.] to view all products
