This one is similar in shape to previous ones I've had. However, what is NOT like the previous ones: • The plastic is much stiffer than the previous scissors so it doesn't flex as much • Doesn't have a little serrated edge on one side of the knife, it's smooth on both sides. The prongs help separate the skin/proteins from the fruit • An area that is not sharp or pointed enough to score the skin displayed. This is a good knife for softer oranges, but a little trickier for harder-skinned oranges as you have to cut the fruit twice. The lack of a jagged edge means more white is left on the orange. Yes, I can brush without the help of a peeler, but it helps save a pinched nail, which inevitably happens, and it speeds up the kids brushing for themselves.
