My first exposure to canvas shoes was many years ago in the form of espadrilles. I liked how I could walk on the back of the shoe. The problem with espadrilles is the flat hemp insole and outsole. The canvas slippers are great, enough detailing and stitching for a structured look, while they fold over to slide your feet right out of bed, wiggle a bit, no need to bend down and pull them over your feet. Depending on your schedule, you can wear them around the house, pull them on your back for a quick way to the mailbox, or chat with the neighbors. The thick rubber sole also makes them a good hiking shoe. I choose moccasins and other slippers half a size larger, they fit easily and sit comfortably on the foot. Great shoes.
