Review on Infinitee/Tanner Traditional Hitting Tee Combo: Versatile Batting Tee for Baseball and Softball Players by Tom Duncan

Candid Feedback from a Pro Coach/Ex-Pro Player

I am a professional baseball coach and former professional player. I bought an Infinitee/Tanner Traditional Hitting Tee Combo for off-season training sessions with players of all skill levels, youth to high school/college/pro. When I stumbled upon the traditional Infinitee/Tanner combo I was immediately intrigued because it eliminates the main disadvantages/limitations of the regular batting jersey, namely the "point of contact" and field position variability. I just hoped it would work and it worked perfectly! To enter you, the "contact point" depends on the location of the field. So many young players grow up with a target that isn't placed properly, either too deep in the zone or too far from it. They also forget to work on the outside and inside of the striking zone, which ends up swinging in the same spot over and over again. I was very impressed to see that the design of the Infinitee's/Tanner Traditional Combo allows the coach or batsman to place the ball at the correct "contact points" for a more realistic swing in the game. As players and coaches, we've always had to take a jersey and move it across the plate to simulate different positions on the pitch. Now it's just a turn to the next location. Both the depth and the horizontal/vertical position of the "step" can be easily adjusted from swing to swing. As you may know, pitchers don't throw balls in the same spot from court to court in a game, LOL, so there's no point in training that way, even on tee boxes. The assembly was very easy. After screwing the Tanner Traditional telescoping portion into the baseplate, all I had to do was place the Infinitee on the telescoping portion and insert the pre-cut ball mount portion into the Infinitee's other slot. It literally takes seconds to reassemble and take apart when I need to put it in my car or bag. It also comes with a personal letter from the owner/inventor thanking me for the purchase and providing clear instructions for easy assembly. He also explains how it should be used and I think he did a really good job with that. In terms of durability, the Infinitee was immediately put to the test by a high school player's misguided swing. It easily withstood the bat's head and I didn't see any signs of damage. I was pleased with the Infinitee's weight and overall feel when I took it out of the box, but it was even more reassuring to see it really take that hit. I'll definitely post an update if anything changes as I use it more, but for now I'm very happy with my purchase and glad to have it in my arsenal of baseball development tools!
