Let me start by saying that these lights are perfect for my application. I installed them around the inside of my pool fence and they look really nice. I'm swapping out the ceiling lights so they appear perfect as the description says they can be installed that way with an external conduit. They don't provide enough space behind the reflector to insert up to 4 wires and nuts, making re-attaching the reflector almost impossible. There is a thin gasket that won't stay in place so I applied a small amount of silicone sealant to it to keep it in place. I also had to grind part of the lens to fit the line fitting. So if you are thinking of surface mounting without a control box, try another product. Oh, did I mention they were nice and bright.
