The first thing that struck me about this item when I opened it up was that it was completely flat in the vacuum packaging and a very dull muddy color nothing like the pink in the picture. . More than the same pink bed has been in a heavy smoker's home for more than 50 years. Also, the hood does NOT stand up and keep its curved shape because it is nowhere near as thick as it appears in the picture and also because it has been crumpled and wrinkled in the packaging. The padding also doesn't fill to the edge of the hood, so there's no hard edge to support it. It sags to the bed. I bought this for my cats to keep them warm when it's cold but they don't want anything to do with it because the annoying sagging hood will suffocate them. Some good points are that it appears to be reversible, including the pillow. inside so it can be silky when hot and velvety when cold. The hood is also detachable. But I could get a much cheaper cat bed with the same features but without the sagging hood and pale pink color.
