The dish rack was attractive to me because it seemed to consolidate my dishes in a small area. Unfortunately, it only holds the amount of dishes as in the surface area of the rack. If you run our of space to place wet dishes, thats about all the rack can (and should hold). If you try to stack light plastic items (even cups) on top of your washed bowls on thebottom layer, the slightest bump will cause a crash (I have kids and teenagers and didn't think of this). The top dish rack is pretty sturdy, tho, and I love that it holds dishes securely. Nothing else should go on top of thse! The plastic trays that catch water at the bottom of each tier slide out as water accumulates from the dripping dishes - you won't notice it until you are done washing, in which case, the counter top is completely wet and dripping. In short, I would recommend this rack only for meticulous, mindful adults. Having a family and lots of hands in the kitchen does not make this product as sturdy as it may seem. It is easy enough to clean, provided that the only thing that touches the rack is water from clean dishes.
