This vest does not have a traditional leg strap. It has two straps - one for each leg. In theory this sounds like the best option, but actually I've never worn anything so uncomfortable. This vest has never seen water and has never been inflated. After putting the straps around my waist, I felt so awkward and uncomfortable that I took them off. I folded it carefully and put it back in my return bag. It was an uncomfortable feeling. Maybe a man can handle it better because their thighs aren't generally as soft as women's, and it avoids the strap tampering with their 'stuff' - so this might just be a warning for women, but that's it so. definitely not for me.
