Edited 05/14/2020: We in our golden years often have body temperatures below 98.6 degrees standard. This POS reads low and combined with a lower body temperature, it often doesn't even show temperature at all. Doesn't beep when it's ready to read as the description promises, so I'm probably holding it in my mouth longer than necessary. Otherwise it looks satisfactory. If you missed the fine print, note that it shows the temperature in degrees Celsius. This suits me as I am bilingual for temperature. If you buy one and are unfamiliar with the Celsius scale, note that 98.6 Fahrenheit will show as 37 Celsius (normal for an average person). Slight deviations within the normal range.
