This cost a little bit more than another unit that I was considering. I chose this one because it seemed to be more heavy duty. This compressor is made primarily of metal, not plastic. It has dual cylinders and it has a quick connect fitting that attaches to your tire’s valve stem. You can get power from your cigarette lighter/auxiliary port, or directly from your car’s battery.FYI - your cigarette lighter/auxiliary port needs to be on at least a15 amp fuse. My SUV has 2 such ports. The one at the rear is 15 amps, but the one in the driver’s compartment is only 10 amp. When I tried to top off my front tires, the 10 amp fuse blew. As the result, in order to top off my front tires I would need to plug the power into my rear 15 amp port, and choose to use the coiled hose extender that comes with the kit, or pop the hood and clip the supplied power cables to my car’s battery. I chose to use my rear port with the coiled hose extender. The compressor still worked like a charm. Since the manufacturer indicates that this compressor needs 15 amps, it is really a shortcoming of my car for not providing a 15 amp circuit for both of my auxiliary ports, and not a shortcoming of this product.
