I've read some of the other reviews and they pretty much cover most of the basic stuff so I won't go into too much detail about fuses. But I am adding to what others have said. Basically, these fuses are of the mini type. They are mainly used on cars from around 2000 onwards. Cars in the 80's and 90's mostly used ATC fuses, and before that they mostly used barrel or glass fuses with metal ends. As for fuses and where they are used. Unlike older cars where the fuses were only housed in one fuse box which was located inside the car or in the cabin, nowadays there are usually 2 fuse boxes. One in the engine compartment and one in the cabin. Those in the seating area are usually somewhere around the dash and can be in doors, in the glove box (not too common these days) or under the molding at your feet (this could be on the side molding or under the dash assembly). ). If you look at many fuse boxes, many of them have multiple open spaces where you can store one or more extra fuses. They are usually isolated in some way. I try to fit a pair in different sizes so I have one on hand in case one pops and you don't. So there is always a replacement available just in case. These slots are usually not filled out from the factory, but are placed there for your convenience should you decide to add additional ones there. This might be something to consider if you've blown fuses a bit. As for these. In general they are not bad. Not great, but not bad either. I think they need to do a few things to make them better. First, start by adding numbers at the end that will be read. They only have a notch to indicate size, but it's made of the same plastic as the rest of the fuse, so it's not easy to read. Maybe color it to make it easier to read. Adding a ledge or texture to the side of the fuse to make it easier to grab and pull would be nice too. The case can also be MUCH smaller. While this one isn't that bad, keeping it in a small place like the glove box isn't very practical because it's so big. You can always put them in a different container if you like, but it's best to start with one that's easier to store. I assume that only about 10% of the space is actually occupied by backups. The rest is just open. I've put all the different sizes and types in one box and it's still not even half full. Just too big. The box is 8 1/4" long, 4 1/8" wide (this doesn't include the hinges, just the body) and 1 1/8" thick. cheap, flexible plastic. It reminds me more of the new ones , eco-friendly DVD cases coming out these days It works and has 2 latches to keep it closed so it does its job perfectly but it's also not durable enough to withstand a lot of abuse. To be honest being it's a cheap setup so can't complain too much about the price the fuses work and that's important if you're replacing fuses as they're not very well marked with numbers at the end to make them easy to find to make it legible it's good to know if you don't know them most fuses have a blade for example they or the ATC type use the same color coding for fuses with color corresponding to size 1 amp black (not in included in this set) 2 ampere gray (not in included in this kit) 3 amp purple or violet (not included in this kit) 4 amp pink (not included in this kit) 5 amp light brown (may look lighter yellowish brown too) 7 1/2 amp brown (usually more than average brown in the dark) 10A red 15A blue (can be light or medium in the dark) 20A yellow (some may look yellowish-orange) 25A clear 30A green 40A amber (yellow-orange color) (not in this kit) Yes, I know I said yellowish-orange on two of them, but the yellow on some old ATC fuses actually looks yellow when it's supposed to be yellow, so it's always best to check the number on it if possible . Color coding should be a common way to see how much current a fuse has, but it is not always reliable as is the case with amber and amber, and with some fuses one can be confused with the other. In most vehicles, conventional fuses do not use values over 30 amps. If so, it's usually not a standard fuse like this one. So you usually don't need more than 30. I'm including a couple of photos so you can see how big the color difference is from one brand to another, although they should all be the same color. I installed them in series, from 5 amps to 30 amps, and wired them together like a color booster/amplifier. It's not a bad set, but like I said, it could be better with a few small tweaks. It's still worth the money. I personally prefer something that is made in the USA if I can since this set is made in China, but the only ones I know of that are made in the USA that I could find were many times more expensive than I'm willing to pay a little more for things that are made in the USA, but I'm not willing to pay triple or more for them. This gap is too big, so I chose it.
