Comfortable - my new review

I really like using this keyboard. It feels solid, and the shape is perfect. Not QUITE as good as my gold standard Microsoft Natural Ergonomic 4000, but pretty close. Interesting use of extended keys near the middle, and the really wide backspace, backslash, and enter are a bit weird, but it all feels incredibly comfortable and intuitive. I actually like the positioning of the cursor keys: Home/End and Page Up/Down are all in good spots, and full sized arrow keys in the correct layout is always a plus. Delete mirroring Escape just feels right. One thing that really bugs me about this board though is the Fn key. it's a toggle, and ONLY a toggle as far as I can tell, which means I have to press the key, use whatever media function I want, then press the key again to get my normal F-keys back. I really wish I had the option of using Fn as a modifier key (e.g. hold Fn and F3 to turn down the volume) without having to toggle the state.I'd bemoan the loss of a numberpad, but I've mostly been using this with laptops that don't have that luxury anyway. For a daily keyboard I'd probably want the upgrade, but without it I really do like the symmetry. It's very satisfying. I kind of wish it had a USB hub built in though so I could plug in an external pad or a mouse. At the end of the day, I like this keyboard. Not perfect, but still fairly satisfying to use. I desperately wish it was mechanical though!

Pros
  • Dual-mode compatibility makes it versatile
Cons
  • No numeric keypad
