We've all heard the story of overpriced sunglasses. I am wholeheartedly supportive of third party replacement lenses that will fit my glasses and maintain the same overall product quality. But unfortunately, because of these cheap replacement parts, I will spend the extra money to buy genuine Oakley lenses. These lenses are about half as thin as the original lenses. Although the product description claims they have been tested for durability and strength, it is clear that they are nowhere near as strong as the original. They also bend easily. Because they are much thinner, they don't fit tightly to the frame. They snap in just like the original lenses, but you can hear an audible squeak every time you grab the goggles as there's still a gap in the frame where the original thicker lens had a much tighter groove tolerance. All of this may suit those who are simply looking for a cheap replacement that can be swapped out at any time. But as for me, having spent over $250 on glasses and having spent a great 4 years with factory lenses, I just can't get over the squeaking every morning when I put on a pair of glasses I bought at the store with my first paycheck. real work in adulthood.
