Review on 🔍 Mann-Filter HU 718/5 X Metal-Free Engine Oil Filter by Dewitt Graham

I have no doubt that I like to take care of my car. On a car that only needs an oil change every 10,000-13,000 miles, I want to make sure I'm using an approved oil filter that can last that long. First let me say this at the beginning of the review. I had Mercedes Branded and Box side by side with this one. They are identical except for the markings (and some of the markings are the same as the Mercedes brand, still has the Mann logo and part number). They are identical as Mann makes this filter under his own brand and the filter for Mercedes. They really are one. These Mann HU 718/5 have a nice solid build and are actually an OEM part. The original OEM part for Mercedes has the Mann part number HU 718/5 in addition to the Mercedes part number. With this filter, only the Mercedes-Benz star, the Mercedes part number and the Mercedes-Benz box are missing. In fact, the filter is made in Germany, who cares? Some other aftermarket brands also use a rebranded OEM filter, at the time of this writing K&N Oil and Purolator Oil. However, these products tend to be much more expensive as these companies have to buy and resell Mann's filters. The Mann Genuine Filter is the most affordable and easiest to get as it's right here at Revain! How can it be easier? Let me just say that a Mercedes OEM branded filter doesn't cost much more than this one. So if you've been to a dealer before, or know a dealer who has good parts prices, there's no need to run away from the genuine filter. It's the same as here and depending on the retailer it can be just a few bucks more if you're in a pinch and can't wait. All in all a highly recommended filter. You can't argue with the original product! This OEM filter is designed for the extremely long drain intervals recommended by Mercedes. Just make sure you use this filter with an approved oil like Mobil 1 0w40.
