Review on πŸ’Ύ Inateck 2.5 to 3.5 SSD Mounting Bracket with SATA Cable and Power Splitter Cable - ST1002S by Heather Young

Revainrating 2 out of 5

They have remade all the usefulness of this brace.

I bought this bracket a year ago to install an SSD drive in a computer I was upgrading and everything went so smoothly I didn't hesitate to buy it again when it came up the time was to upgrade another computer. This is a totally unfortunate redesign of the original mount. First, the wrong dimensions. It is 2mm wider than the drive bay. Second, the hardware mounting hole is not made properly to use the computer mounting screws. Third, the holes aren't drilled in the right place to mount an SSD to the front of the drive bay, requiring the wires to snake around the metal edges to get to the drive. The solution was to align the sides and fold back to the correct dimensions, trim the screw holes correctly to use the computer's mounting hardware, drill new holes in the SSD's mounting tabs so the drive was flush with the cable protection hole. It took 3 hours to update in 10 minutes. There are better kits. Sorry, the first bracket was great.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
