We bought this to control the pantry lights we have fitted in the kitchen as we didn't want a standard external switch. I used this in combination with an NC reed switch. Directed Electronics 8600 Micro-Magnetic Switch and One of Hyperikon's 5/6" Dimmable LED Downlights, ENERGY STAR, 14W (75W Replacement), 4000K (Daylight White), CRI90+, Enhanced LED Downlight, LED Downlight, - (Pack of 4 -pack), in standard IC rated bracket. Installed great. I was able to fit it straight into the J-Box which is built into the glass bracket. There is a slight delay when opening the door but it's not noticeable once you get used to it. If you want the light to come on when the door is open, I stress that you need a normally closed "NC" switch. My switch does not have a timed off function. The Functional Devices (RIB) CLC212D15 Cabinet Light Switch, Enc 10A SPST, 120-277VAC current This is the same switch but it turns off 15 minutes after the door is opened.
