I ordered this fan to cool my Ubiquiti Unifi 8 Port PoE Switch. This particular switch is passively cooled (no built-in fans) and sits atop our entertainment center in our living room. It provides network connection to our Roku, Bluray Player, Game Consoles and Unifi PoE WiFi Hotspot. In a room with good airflow and nothing blocking the Switch's vents, it will run stably at 150 degrees Fahrenheit. This is the normal operating temperature for this switch model. After adding this fan to one side, the temperature steadily dropped. After 15 minutes they leveled off at 105F. Drop 45 degrees! I have the fan set to high and can't hear it unless I'm standing directly in front of it and the TV is off. If something is playing, I can't hear it at all. He is very quiet. The build quality is also fantastic. I will definitely buy them again! EDIT: The temperature on my Ubiquiti switch continued to drop and finally settled at 98 degrees and stayed there for the last few days. A total drop of 52 degrees is simply due to the addition of this fan.
