This lens allows you to shoot from a distance in the late evening and at night. It can also be a good portrait lens. Apparently the 7 craftsmen intended it for a portrait lens, because the focus scale shrinks when trying to take a picture from 5 meters to infinity. Even with good focus on the camera body, the adhesive mechanism makes it difficult to focus on distant subjects. It seems like a good lens with decent optical performance for $119.99. Chromatic aberration does show up a bit, but color is good and light transmission seems acceptable at a maximum of f/1.4. I wasn't attempting to photograph people in a portrait setting, so hopefully that adds to the usefulness of the lens. The price is good, but not as practical as a high-end 1970s lens with an adapter at the moment.
