Replacing engine mounts is something you don't want to do twice due to poor quality. I am not an "OEM or nothing" advocate and always compare aftermarket parts and/or upgrades to OEM parts where possible and reasonable. OEM parts are designed and tested by engineers to last a specified number of miles and/or years, not just beyond a 90 day warranty like most aftermarket parts. Most of the reviews I've read about the cheaper aftermarket mounts didn't mention that they fail, but did mention that they're made of a different, much stronger rubber and transfer more engine vibration to the passenger areas. This prompted me to spend extra money on OEM parts. I mean the originals they replace have done over 180,000 miles and are still "good". I'm replacing them because I have the engine for another repair and now is the perfect time to do so. While they haven't failed, the rubber in them has hardened from age/weathering, so I'm expecting a slightly smoother idle feel when it's all back together with the new mounts.
