This 6ft cable is exactly as pictured. Some of these types of small cables and adapters differ from those described or illustrated. I don't know why, but fortunately this cable arrived in November 2011 as pictured and described. Important Notes: 1) The 2.5mm side has a massive (relative) amount of rubber for the connector. Seriously, what the hell? 2) These are 3-pin connectors on both sides. If you don't know what it is, it's a standard headphone jack with two black rings forming "3 Poles". Possible use: from mobile phone to PC. Recording? (I don't know why) - Perfect replacement for Xbox headset cables (Sharkoon, Turtle Beach, Tritton, etc.) Connections on headset dongles are 3.5mm, but the Xbox controller uses a 3-pin 2.5- mm connection. However, keep in mind that I said there was an inordinate amount of rubber on the 2.5mm side, the side that would protrude from the Xbox controller. I would recommend finding another cable that is the same 2.5mm to 3.5mm but with a 2.5mm that has a square end to allow the cable to go in and out of the controller. I've never been able to use this cable so I don't even know if it worked but to be fair to the seller I can't leave low stars even though it may have been a faulty cable to begin with . My problem was that the 2.5mm side was too big to fit in the rubber flange, resulting in a 2.5mm socket with unknown pinout. I tried to cut some rubber off the 2.5mm side and damaged the internal wiring at the connection point. This is not a quality cable. I have a feeling this was done on a machine that isn't capable of handling small form factor 2.5mm jacks. Please click "Yes" if this was helpful.
