The Surface Laptop 2 is one of the best laptops I've seen on the market. It's a high-end laptop in terms of specs, similar to the MacBook Pro lines, but otherwise the Surface seemed like a better buy for a number of reasons. PROS: Nice touchscreen display: This stands out compared to the MacBook Pro. The display between Mac and Surface is very similar, but the touch capabilities make it easier than just being limited to the Touch Bar. I have to say that my hand tends to stay on the touchpad anyway, but swiping or touching the screen can make certain tasks easier. The laptop has decent brightness when working outdoors, although like any laptop you should avoid using it in direct sunlight for the best results. Amazing performance: I haven't personally compared the Surface Laptop 2 side-by-side. with a MacBook Pro to get a decent comparison, but the Surface definitely gets the job done. Whether I'm editing videos or surfing the web, Surface runs all of these programs without a hitch. With at least 8GB of RAM allowing you to multitask at the same time without lag, it has withstood pretty much everything I've thrown at it. As long as you don't play games on it, the laptop runs smoothly. Amazing Design: The design remains the same as previous years' model. The metal casing on the outside of the laptop gives it a very smooth finish and a premium look. The laptop also has Alcantara fabric around the touchpad and keyboard, making it easier to type on the laptop on your wrists. Along with the design, the laptop is quite light and easy to carry around without much hassle. NEUTRAL: Battery life: The battery life of the laptop is decent. With a powerful processor and display, it's understandable why the battery falls short of some people's expectations. I can surf the web and occasionally watch videos for 6-7 hours on a single charge. The laptop charging cable is compact, so taking it with you shouldn't be a problem. VS Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C: Despite this laptop's features, it lacks Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C ports. While this is basically an upgrade over last year's model, it would be nice if they implemented both features in one laptop, but it's not a deal breaker personally. Windows 10 Home: This laptop comes with Windows 10 Home, not the Pro edition. . This is not a problem for me as I don't use any of the additional features of the Pro version. But ATTENTION, this comes with Windows 10 Home. GENERAL INFORMATION: This laptop should be suitable for most people in their daily tasks. Performance should meet or exceed your expectations if you have a laptop older than 4 years. So if you're looking for an upgrade, it's definitely worth buying.
