Great offer! Will be updated over time with more use.

Hooray, I'm the first reviewer for this pony! I'm sorry you can't get started often. Lol As this is my first review I will do my best to provide as complete a review as possible so you know exactly what to expect when you order one! ****Edited to update info on skin clamped in bare jaws for a few days. . After a few days, small scratches appeared on the skin. Not much, and to see it I actually had to use a light and rotate the skin at an angle to see most of it. In this sense, the leather lining of the cheeks should not be missing! However, the glasses are not lost, just because they all get by without leather cheeks. Almost everyone sewed ponies. My apologies for not providing a photo because I forgot to bring one and used this piece of leather to try out some new tools. Ouch! LolEnd of edit*** I paid $22.99 for it. Almost the cheapest I've seen at Revain. Being new to leatherworking and wanting to make knife sheaths and holsters as well as a few other items and having read the All Stohlmans book on hand sewing leather felt that this third hand would be very helpful. So for a little more than the price of a case of beer, I ordered one! It arrived today and here's what I think. Immediately after unpacking I saw that the packaging is plastic wrap, which is what you would use in your kitchen. Okay, I thought, cheap packaging, no frills, cut costs and pass it on to the buyer, I hope? So I unfolded it and held two parts in my hands. base and baking. There are two holes in the base. A second at one end and one in the middle. This allows the user to decide how to use and position it for work. I liked it! The screw and wing nut were in the hole closest to the end. Collecting the ponies was not difficult. My fingers didn't fit the hole very well, but turning the bottom of the screw rather than the wing nut helped me in no time! Pretty intuitive, even for a beginner like me. I do have a mechanical mind though, so maybe that helped? In any case, it is easy to use. Lift the red lever, open your mouth, insert your finger lengthwise to test the clamping force, and lower the lever until it stops. Yes, I'm the type, gotta check it out with my natural dipsticks! The force of the clamp was fairly harsh but not painful. I've known a few women who took up leatherwork just to have one of those stitch ponies, but I digress. lol So it works well. Hard but not hard enough to leave marks on the skin. I think my finger was safe. Lift the lever and painlessly remove your finger. Then run your fingers and hands over it to check if it's all over. Thing is smooth! Very soft! Someone was messing with the mill! Even the inner surface of the jaws was extremely smooth! I am impressed with the workmanship and details of this item! The inner surface of the jaws, where the work is held, is smooth enough for me that I may not need to skin them, but I will, just in case. It's so well finished! Let's move on to the equipment and assembly used. In this way, the screws are screwed in directly and the heads are flush with the wood surface. There is no rust anywhere. All metal fittings appear to be nickel plated. All hardware used looks appropriate for the application, not too small or cheap. The lever that opens and closes the jaws does so smoothly without binding. I did everything right of my own volition I tightened the nut on the bolt so that it was against the wood opposite the lever simply because it felt right to make sure there was no movement. Of course it could be attached to the rod portion of the lever. I posted a photo of this place. No hinge is used to move the jaws, but only the resilient nature of the wood and the position of the locking linkage determine the pressure. I don't see this as a disadvantage as I find comfort in simplicity and don't find it necessary due to the design of this step pony. I'm going to clamp two pieces of the lightest piece of leather I have in my jaws overnight just to see if I need to line mine, although I still will. Someone somewhere might find this useful so i will do it i did this Pony leather is in the 6-8 oz range I think. see drawing. The base has a rounded edge on three sides of the top. I don't know why they didn't round off the last edge, but I don't feel uncomfortable sitting on it. I have a skinny ass and no ass no matter what it takes. The location of the jaws in each hole and sitting on them in any position is comfortable. The height of the cheeks relative to me and the imitation of the seams seem almost correct to me. For example, how this tailored pony was built for western textures and body sizes, not eastern ones. I'm happy with it! I'm over 6ft 1in. So at the moment it is like this. I will update and close this review tomorrow, but in short, my conclusion is that this is a well made, reliable, affordable purchase, built to a standard not typically associated with Chinese goods. !
