The filter size described is pretty accurate. My inverted housing for our AC filter measures 20 1/8" X 30 1/16". This filter measures 19 1/2" x 29 7/16", which is small enough to make a howling or hissing noise after dust builds up in the filter. Dust collection takes an average of 1 week in my case, and tapping on the outer edges to minimize noise didn't help either. In fact, the AC unit started choking and making even more noise. This is ordinary dust, we don't have pets! My new filter from another manufacturer seems to be of much better quality and measures 19 7/8" X 29 3/4" and while it's still slightly smaller, in my case it's big enough not to howl or to whistle. t whistle. This eliminates the need to mask the edges with tape or replace the filters every two weeks! Hope that helps
