Works but slow - training and education

Got this for my daughter for her third birthday and she loves it. As a DSLR owner, I was a bit unhappy with the low megapixel count, but for a three-year-old it really doesn't matter. Most of their shots are blurry gray streaks of a cat running away, not necessarily what you want in high definition. Photos aren't that bad for a low MP scale, but they tend to be a little worse in low light. blurry, which is typical for most cameras, so not a real minus. Battery life is decent, if you're worried about draining a billion batteries it's easy to get rechargeable AA batteries and just charge them overnight. The camera controls are intuitive, in one day she figured out how to get to all the filters, switch the camera between front and back and even find games. I personally think games are superfluous, there is no point in including them. Camera. However, I didn't lower the rating because the games can be switched off. If you turn them off, I highly recommend doing so before your child finds them, otherwise they will ask for them after you turn them off. The only thing I'm REALLY deducting a star for is the shutter lag. At least a full second elapses between the time you press the shutter button and the camera takes the picture. This means she's trying to see the photo she just took before the shutter releases. We work with her to wait until she hears the trigger sound, but I don't think it's abnormal to expect toddlers to push a button and expect instant results. I still recommend the camera, especially for older kids who can wait a few seconds until they hear the shutter sound to review their photos.
