This works very well with cheeses like parmesan and super sharp cheddar - cheese that won't stick when you turn the knob. Once you get to a soft cheese like soft cheddar, it starts to clump up a bit, eventually squeezing out the distorted cheddar puree that's stuck between the grater and the frame. The handle is too slanted so it adds extra flavor, sometimes get scratches from knuckles too. Maybe I just have big hands, but I really think the handle just rotates too close to the rest of the grater. On the plus side, it's easy to clean and grates hard cheese much faster. You'll have to work with smaller chunks of cheese, but you don't need a lot for something like parmesan anyway.
