I bought this quick release pick to solve a problem I had installing a front bike rack on a mountain bike. The bar added 1/2" to the overall length needed to attach the bars to the quick release bar (see photos). I contacted the bike manufacturer's tech support and also took the time to go to one of the bike manufacturer's recommended bike shops to go. In vain. So I used my engineering skills and bought this 3/16 diameter skewer for the front skewer (although it's a back skewer. Back skewers are always about 1" or a little longer than the front skewers). And it worked great works. I liked the silver color of the trigger on this part. This part was delivered within a day and the price was good. So sometimes you have to "think outside the box". No thanks to the "technical support" of the manufacturer or the bike shop.
