Contributes to pump clogging

Did the opposite of what was expected. I thought I would shield the pumps from clogs caused by algae, but the bags were quickly clogged themselves, and parts of the bags were sucked into the pump intake, actually fouling the propellers in one case. I have removed them, and the pumps are now fine.

wish I had done this along time ago really protects the pump

The bag may not be effective at trapping smaller particles and debris in the filter media
