Problem: My old warmer wasn't heating enough. I've been forced to buy flat, thin, small, or metal cups to ensure adequate heat transfer to maintain the temperature. Solution: Welcome to the 21st century. This new heater is so hot that even at low temperatures, my thin or metallic cups get uncomfortably hot. These circles are retired. Now I can return some of my favorite mugs that are a little thicker or a little bigger (for good reason). Warnings: 1. A four hour auto shut off is a long time. That's enough to vaporize nearly an inch of coffee, risking a dry burn. I would prefer 2 hours. 2. The buttons are so sensitive that the mouse cable can turn the heater off or, worse, turn it on. At least the beep button is audible.
