So these shelves are NOT easy to install unless you create a pattern. Save yourself the stress of not measuring the distance between the holes because if you deviate even a little, the shelf won't fit properly. I used a piece of wide masking tape taped all the way down to the back (mounting side) of the shelf with the clips in place. On this piece of tape I marked where the holes on the bracket are. Once you find the tape, remove the tape from the back of the shelf and place it in the desired installation location. Make sure it is aligned. You can then simply pierce the tape where you marked the screw holes and peel off the tape when you're done. I found this much easier than trying to get "accurate" and rethinking (which is always my fault). Hope that helps!
