Review on πŸͺ’ BIC Flex 4 Sensitive Hybrid Men's Razor: Smooth & Close Shave Kit with 20 Cartridges and 2 Handles by Tracy Love

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Well I'm impressed.

I'm an unabashed shaving snob. That's a little luxury I'm willing to spend on the best. So I buy Gillette Fusion PreGlide 5 blade razors with extra glide pads and I really like them. I love how they fit my face. I love how they glide. I like the sturdy handle. I like the cutting blade on the top of the cartridge. These blades and handles are the opposite of the Fusion system in every way: no branch blade; cheap plastic pen; blades that can be carried backwards; not real lube, just a small smoothing pad. Bye. They do a surprisingly good job of getting a close shave. While in many ways a throwback to the early 1990s, they work and work well. I miss the weight of a Gillette pen. I particularly miss the razor blade - you have to make an effort to get the razor to your nostrils. The feel is nowhere as smooth as the Fusion. But the end result is just as good. Two days ago I opened up a new Fusion ProGlide cartridge and used it with my Gillette pen. Today I opened up this Bic Flex and used it to compare with Fusion. Bic actually delivers a closer shave than Fusion. And the cost of the Bic system is about a third of the cost of the Fusion. So, update after a few weeks of use: I really wish it had a razor trimmer. back of the cartridge. Not as close to the nostrils as I would like. Also, if you press down to enter, you're more likely to get cut. I'm used to squeezing Fusion, but if you do it with this razor, you're much more likely to bleed. It's still a good razor, but not as perfect as the Fusion. I still like using it.
