I've been looking for a long time for one of these that didn't have gaps between the panels or slots for a child to put their foot in or climb up after reading other reviews of this product. That's it, there are slots but I don't think the slots are big enough to be used for climbing. It comes pre-assembled and doesn't have suction cups on the bottom, but there are handles to keep it in place. I really like that you can turn the knob to lock each panel. It's very large, about 5-6 feet long, if it's rectangular or oval I might actually remove some panels. I wish they made a slightly smaller version that was less expensive. I'm just glad all my searching paid off and I found one that I feel safe leaving the kid alone in while I'm out of the room for a minute. I highly recommend this.
