If your hands aren't very steady and you can't concentrate, chances are you won't be able to fit them perfectly. Do not worry. Nobody will notice. The palm rest was easier to install than the trackpad - the separately supplied touchpad is a bit smaller and that's what I preferred to install. Its bezels are slightly smaller than the MacBook's trackpad. So as long as you place it so that there is some space on each side, you're fine. IMPORTANT: The texture is different from the original trackpad. But in a good way. It's a bit "gritty" (?) and rough and just amazing. I like the way the original trackpad looks, but it's even better; Also, I don't have to worry about long nails or metal bracelets/watches scratching it. Definitely a cop! If you screw it up completely, it's cheap enough that you can buy another one and it will still be worth it. Think about the resale value of your Macbook. (That's a lot more valuable than $9).
