So when I originally bought it I bought it for a small camcorder that needs a microphone with battery to power it as the camera is not powerful enough to use the microphone with to supply electricity. After unboxing the product my expectations were quite low, but after setting it up and testing it in multiple scenarios I have to say I'm very impressed! I have several Rode mics and while this mic isn't Rode, it's not stupid either. I would recommend this little mic to anyone looking to stay under the $30 price point. The optional outdoor windshield/dead cat was a little tricky to attach to the gun mic, but it's a great addition to an outdoor mic. I would buy again if I had to.
