CABLE IS BROKEN BUT THE COMPANY STILL "ROCKS "

First let me say that I grew up watching school friends use Rockford Fosgate exclusively. I couldn't afford Punch series amps or speakers, but I liked the car stereos of the '80s when there was a boom. At the age of 17 I started learning the trade of installing a car audio system. It wasn't that I had a loud stereo, it was that I learned how to do installs and got into a job that was, quite frankly, BOOM! From simple installation shops I've worked my way up as far as I can, even making it into car radio magazines. By participating in many events and sound events I have learned and strived to be proud of my work. Everything from the basic wiring, upholstery, fiberglass, trim and everything in between. I've had a lot of cars, each with an extreme audio system. Not because I had to shake the building, but because the passion is still alive in me at 50. Yes, I currently have a full Rockford truck with 8-10 and 20 mids and highs running all the Rockford amps, 20 farad capacitors and a custom battery bank. So I'm very familiar with Rockford Quality. Which brings me to this review. RCA cables are not created equal. They were purchased for a home cinema system with two subwoofers. Both powered subwoofers carried a small hum on each wire, which tells me the shielding quality is very poor. What people don't realize is that connections and speaker wire can make or break your home theater. At a volume of -70 you can clearly hear a hum, as if you had disconnected the cable from the source and grounded the cable to itself with your hand. If it does that by itself, it's a defective cable. I used another company's connections but they weren't available so I decided to try these. In my opinion not the best way. Can this cable be bad? I bought another cable and yes the problem is solved. Of course they have the Rockford name on them, but this pair is not for me.

Pros
  • Sturdy build
Cons
  • Was damaged
