Less than 6 months with occasional use

I use it to make coffee 2-3 times a week at home. I've had it for less than six months and it's giving VERY erroneous readings. Right now the thermometer shows 120 degrees just standing on the counter, while this morning it's 68 degrees indoors. I first realized there might be a problem with it when it read 220 (the maximum reading) when the water wasn't even boiling. I would rush to drain the water but then the coffee wasn't very hot. No need to replace it anytime soon for the amount of use it's had.
