Review on Pirelli Ice Zero FR 235/65 R17 108H winter by Mateusz Maycha ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Everything about the product satisfied me, the price is perfect.

What I expected, I got. I chose according to the principle: no spikes and a stronger cord. I always drove without spikes, even on cheap tires, so the behavior of the car has been studied for a long time, now Kalina is a station wagon. I go 3 months. One point in the tests confused me - this is braking on dry pavement, everything is fine, I'll tell you, it gets to its feet. On dry pavement, just a song, did not feel the difference with summer bridgestones. I got bridgestones 5000 with the car, I'm tired of them. Now the leg does not get tired, everything is fine with fuel consumption, silence from the road, the bridgestones rested and interfered with the ride. The behavior is standard for any Velcro: it drags on snow porridge (when there are snowdrifts on asphalt) in turns and during acceleration, on wet snow it’s excellent, it seems like they’re driving through snowdrifts, but the breeches certainly dug better, the tread was more aggressive. On a slippery surface, they also slow down well, the rubber is of high quality, if you check it on purpose, in real life I brake with the engine. My choice is comfort, and I can handle handling, of course, a little slippery porridge leaves the trajectory, but only spikes ride on rails. In the cold, everything is fine, as on dry asphalt, softly. Do not forget that Velcro is mainly needed for the city. And yet, at the moment when the neighbors scrape the asphalt with spikes, I accelerate on par without any special slips. I'm only afraid that over time, tires may lose their properties, but that's another story. I add after 2 years: already the 3rd year of rubber, I didn’t notice wear, rubber was selectively removed, but this is due to driving until May for the last time. Summary - this is rubber for frost, it is moderately soft, but does not like heat. It rides very well on asphalt, if without a rut, it is not afraid of ice, it only gives up at the start, it takes snow well, you won’t get stuck, you need to slow down in snow porridge, it starts to slide. Braking is good. I haven’t been in the pits, it eats bumps and rails well.

Pros
  • you drive like a summer car, fuel consumption, comfort
Cons
  • in addition to my last comment - the handling was most depressing, I thought that the viburnum had a blurred steering, now I drive on a luxury grant, which runs like on rails on summer tires, but after changing shoes for the winter, the rails disappeared, with the onset of heat in the spring, the handling still drops, more does not like ruts, perhaps this is due to the fact that the contact patch is narrow. I'll get wider tires next time.
