This HDMI to USB box is perfect for capturing 1080p video at 60fps on my MacBook Pro with Catalina; The original video comes from 2 different cameras. The laptop only has USB-C/Thunderbolt ports, so the box connects via a USB-A to USB-C adapter - no problem. The computer sees the signal like a standard webcam and videos can be recorded in QuickTime, OBS, etc. I'm not a streamer, but the box is great for Zoom meetings, so I think it will work for gamers too. Note that the set-top box cannot transcode 4K to 1080p, so your camera must support 1080p HDMI output. Or lower of course, but I don't care about that, so I didn't check. The only thing missing is a pass to monitor the video stream - that's the only weakness that can force me to return the product.
