I guess I can say I'm surprised there isn't much foresight when it comes to multiple TVs using the same sources these days. I have three configurations and all three are different, but two have the same problem: two TVs, two rooms and a cable box and a Blu-ray player in one of the rooms. In this last setup, since the TVs are in completely different rooms, I chose to omit the external switch between devices and have each TV control two separate HDMI lines. First I wanted to run a 25ft HDMI cable at a time, and then a 1.5" or 3" cable behind a TV. It did not happen, and ended up buying a pair of 15ft speakers and FF plugs locally to complete setup without having to wait for completion. So that put me at 40 feet between a TV and the sources, I was a little worried about the distance and the fact that I had to use a plug to connect two cables together. Not what I wanted but this was what I had to do. Which brings me to this splinter, make them two. As said, this setup should allow the TV to select sources, not a separate switch like I have in my other setup. After running the cables in the walls and ceiling (luckily it was a false ceiling) and adding them to create the final distance, everything was ready to be connected. I have a cable label printer so I labeled both ends for the DVD and left the cable box unwrapped so you can see everything clearly. With all of this wired up and the BAFX IR blaster installed on the set top boxes, I booted up both the TVs and the cable set top box - not a single problem. Both TVs looked great and had no issues with HD and non-HD content. Very happy with the size as it is a nice metal body that is light weight and all ports are on one side. A family member now wants the same thing in a part of their home. of course I was chosen. At least I know everything is running correctly and with the components I chose. Also, both TVs are brand new. One is 3D and the other is not. I just made sure I was using the correct HDMI cable and everything was fine. s looked great and had no issues with HD and non-HD content.
