Review on πŸ”₯ High-Performance Moroso Oil Pan for Ford 7.3 Powerstroke Engines (27336) by Alexander Craner

Revainrating 2 out of 5

NOT MOROSO. Has an SPI stamp. This is Spectra Premium Industries (a Canadian engineering company that produces OBS materials)

I wanted a Moroso sump but it came from SPI in Canada. He was in a box. with a Moroso part number and a huge "Moroso" sticker on the pan itself. But it's clearly stamped SPIMoroso in CT. As far as I can see this is not a Moroso oil pan as advertised! One of the other indicators besides the fact that it's stamped "SPI" is that it does NOT have a magnetic oil drain plug like the Real Moroso oil pan! Also, it has NO Moroso finishes. The quality steel, which is thicker than OEM Moroso, has a triple zinc phosphate finishing process that not only creates a strong base but also neutralizes any corrosion caused by the welding process itself. The second coat is a 1 mil black electroplated finish and the final coat is a high gloss black epoxy powder coat finish. The Moroso oil pan design was precisely coordinated thanks to many years of experience in the construction of oil pans and numerous salt spray tests. The OEM oil pan has a black painted finish only. I'm not sure how the SPI oil pan that came in the box with the Moroso tag matches the OEM or GENUINE Moroso product. I am sending it back and will buy a more expensive but original product. The .SPI could be thicker, but it's definitely not ready yet. Maybe it's just painted like an OEM that will rust

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly dented
