These scissors have several positive properties, mainly they are easy to hold, safe to use and cut very thin. Even though the eye remover is plastic, it removes the eyes. BUT it has a bug which is a problem for me. Because of the way it's made, it's almost impossible for me to slice "lumpy" potatoes or peel thin, round items like carrots. The way the blade is made means it doesn't handle extreme curves well. So I used my paring knife to "get the rest". As for carrots, I gave up after the first time and went straight to my knife. Two stars. Suitable for some vegetables but not the ones I use most.
