REAL So. Before the purchase I had the following headphones: 1) Sennheiser HD598; 2) audio device ATH-M40x; 3) Grado SR60e. I'm an aspiring music lover, and each set of cans has its own use - 598s for cinema, orchestra, etc.; My audio tech is for travel and my grados for rock, orchestration, vocals, etc. But all three lacked bass when listening to my favorite rap/hip. I have used the MDRX10 and they will have their own place in my headphone rotation. 50mm drivers really make a world of difference when it comes to producing beautifully rumbling bass that other banks can't match. The sound for other genres is good and the built-in microphone works with my droid (S4, don't know how it works with other droids). Comes with a nice case although I'm not sure how much protection the case actually offers. These are also my first tangle free headphones and I'm definitely a fan. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a nice natural bass sound but also want it for practical use. I will not be disappointed.
