As others have said, patience is the key to this DIY. For a more controlled approach, I decided to remove the steering wheel. If you plan to do the same, remove the battery and turn off the airbag 30 minutes before removing the steering wheel. I also painted the fairing to give the whole bike an updated look as well as the blue Honda badging to match the blue gauges. Definitely impressed with the feeling, I'm almost afraid to touch the steering wheel for fear of scratching it or something. I ripped a thin patch of fabric a bit, luckily it's hidden under the paneling so you can't see it. The only advice I can give is to buy curved needles to help with tight spots near the spokes and use at least 2.5x. Measuring step from needle to needle. I made the mistake of using too much nylon line and had to buy more nylon line. I hope this helps anyone who decides to upgrade their steering wheel.
