It captures short controlled distances around the house fairly well. The reception signal is good at a decent distance in the house from the 2nd to the 1st floor through several walls. It's far from the wall and looks like a motion detection system. The selection of alarm clocks is limited and it takes a little time to choose. Few alarm tones are reasonable beeps. The biggest complaint is that it doesn't even beep when it's off. It quickly fires about 3 times in a row. So even if you select an alarm instead of the music that some alarms play, it will still beep several times quickly.
