These sponges really aren't for dishes: they're too big, too thick, not flexible enough and not soapy enough. So why 5 stars? For everything else they are amazing! For countertops, floors, sinks, in the bathroom, for scraping stubborn slime from the floor, deep cleaning of walls, baseboards, air vents. In short, for almost any housework. Crumbs, food scraps and dirt really stick to these suction cups. You can apply a lot of elbow grease — the abrasive surface removes sticky objects — without fear of damaging kitchen or furniture surfaces. Rinse them and they're ready to go. When they get really gross (which is common since I use them every day) I just toss them in the wash and they're good as new. You have to love them because they will be with you for a very, very long time. Very durable. And when their lives as obedient scrapers end, they end up on the compost heap. I haven't found anything to compare.
