I have dealt with ingrown toenails for over 15 years. And I'm only 30 years old. So you could say I'm an expert at getting ingrown toenails out and then end up having surgery when I fail and I'm in excruciating pain. I had to have surgery on three of the four sides of my big toes. Since surgery is not a guaranteed permanent solution, I've had trouble getting dead skin back, and I've also had to deal with ingrown toenails again at times. The tools included in this kit were a life saver and really helped me pull out dead skin and an ingrown toenail. And then I was able to put Pad C on my toenail to prevent an ingrown toenail. I have struggled with having to "operate" from home and am so happy that I was able to successfully treat my ingrown toenail. Have problems without having to make another appointment with a podiatrist (if you do need to see a podiatrist, know that it can take months to get an appointment if you're not lucky). I'm a nurse so being able to walk miles every day without pain is very important. So this set was a lifesaver for me. I would say that you probably need to have some experience with ingrown toenails to be successful with this set. I also used my other angle cutters and tweezers to successfully get rid of the ingrown toenail. Then I laid the plastic piece on its side to prevent the ingrown ingrown from growing into the side of the nail.
