I rarely write reviews, especially nothing less than 5 stars, but I had such high hopes for this one! After months of research, countless teardowns of truly wireless headphones on Youtube, and fantastic positive reviews for these headphones, I decided to buy them ahead of the Black Friday craze. At $49 they are great for the average consumer, their design is elegant and the concept behind it is great. The problem I have is with the design. I really don't blame JLab as true wireless headphones are still in their infancy and they've built a solid product for making discreet, functional headphones that don't cost an arm and a leg. When I received them the instructions were very easy to follow and I connected the earbuds together. After about 10 minutes of listening to music, the left earpiece was useless; I have not heard anything. I thought there might be a problem with the wrong charging or that there might be a problem with the left side of the charging case so I tried charging it from the right side. The left earbud was flashing blue but was not responding to my device's bluetooth or any other earbuds. Normally when you turn on each earbud you hear "Hello" and I just heard a low beep and then nothing. I've also tried fully discharging the battery and then charging it again, as this sometimes fixes wireless headphone issues, to no avail. I debated the idea of requesting a left earbud replacement, but requested a refund for the following reasons: 1. The voice prompts were too loud for me, especially a few reminders when you're at 10% battery. and hello/goodbye. 2. They couldn't connect to my Macbook Pro which was the main reason I bought them; After searching my laptop, restarting the computer and even changing the network, the headphones could not be found. 3. The USB charging cable is several inches long and plugging it into the computer/charging port restricts the use of the case and also affects the charging position of the headphone in its case, which I believe was the original culprit as well. on the left button does not work. After reading some comments on their support videos, which they kindly (and promptly) send when you contact them, I see that I'm not alone with these connection issues. I'll wait for JLab to release a second iteration that has fewer kinks. I emailed JLab and forgot I bought from Revain and can easily get my money back for the online purchase. They responded with the previously mentioned YouTube video on pairing your device. When I replied that this method was not the main problem and the left handset was not responding, they sent a thoughtful email to give them a call and find out what was wrong. I ended up returning via Revain as their client's hours overlapped with mine. I also paid for the return shipping (it's not a prepaid return) which again doesn't really matter since it's $8 but when you're on a budget sometimes every penny counts. If you buy these, be aware that they have not been available for consumer testing for an extended period of time, and many of these reviews come from people who have worn them for days or weeks (usually with the expression of initial [and guaranteed] "Wow , this is revolutionary" after years of connecting with wireless headphones); This is a brand new product and of course you run the risk of it not working. Overall this is a minor issue as companies are constantly shipping faulty products and you can always easily get a replacement/refund from the company (not sure if you have to pay shipping for the item you bought). product), but because of the design, they just aren't for me. Thank you JLab for their prompt customer service, innovation, extremely fair prices and vision for the future of audio. I'm really looking forward to seeing the next generation of their audio products in the future.
