Great light full of fun once you get the hang of it!

I know there are critical reviews of this product, mostly related to using the app, but I think *most* of them are easy to solve if you make sure you use the right app. As the Q&A shows, there are 3 apps to choose from and you need to find the right one. Before I bought this light I tried to install an app and it was force closed. Then I tried i-light pro and it seemed to work without closing (just couldn't find the light for obvious reasons). Installation: The instructions are in small print but explain how to properly install the device. I'm used to black/white/green wires but the instructions say what colors fit on the light fixture. Took me about 30 minutes to connect. It is not attached to the electrical box, but attached to the drywall ceiling with 3 screws (dowels included). Gave 4/5 stars based on fine print and wire color. Setup: The guide includes remote features that I honestly didn't read fully, and also includes barcodes to download three apps. I prefer to use the app to check/change settings and try the remote later. Turn on the switch, launch the app and you can easily change colors/settings within the app. Using the app takes some training, but if you have Philips Hue bulbs, the interface is very similar to this one. Features: This is what I really like about this device. I was able to pair the speaker in the flashlight with my son's Echo Dot Kid's Edition and now he can listen to music, books, etc. through the flashlight's speaker. This tends to distort the sound at too high a volume, but it's very clear that you'll find a "sweet spot" for volume. It will even flicker to music (see video). Great fun machine! Brightness can be adjusted for low light/night light or simply illuminate a room at the basic maximum brightness setting with no color. Haven't played with the timer yet, but from what I can see on the app it's basically a sleep timer. Worth the money for everything it offers. Other Cons: The only thing I found a little painful is that it only seems to be paired with one device at a time. I connected to my phone to use the app, but had to disconnect it to connect to the Echo Dot. You'll have to keep doing this if you want to switch back and forth. Cool Tip: To easily switch between paired devices, I think this is the best way. Once you find the right app that works on your phone, plug in the flashlight and use the app. If you want to pair with Echo or Google Home devices, first disconnect the speaker from your phone and close the app. Use the wall switch to turn the light off for 10-15 seconds and then turn it back on. Connect it to your smart device with Alexa app or Google Home according to Alexa/Google instructions.
