Proper placement and the lithium battery are crucial! Great product

I have no problem with this product and it works great for me. Here are some points/tips about the sensor.1. Do not place the sensor in direct sunlight, otherwise problems will occur.2. Use a 9 volt lithium battery in the sensor to allow the sensor to work and last long in very cold (-40F) and hot climates.3. Read the instructions! They will tell you how to limit the sensor's field of view if necessary.4. It defines people very well. I use this on my porch/doorway to identify low living. I had something stolen in the area and decided to do my own security.4. Most movements trigger the alarm man 100% of the time. Squirrels, leaves and other things will make it stand out. Think about the placement of the sensor and you won't get false alarms.5. The sensor is easy to install and can be placed in any position (horizontal, vertical or overhead) with an included screw.6. The base unit is loud enough for my ears, I keep it quiet. The base station/alarm clock also has a flashing light that signals along with the beep.7. The device and sensor are well constructed and appear solid.8. The base unit is powered by three "C" batteries and is intended for indoor use. As I said before, I recommend a lithium 9 volt sensor for the sensor.9. Mine is set at about 100 feet, the signal goes through 6 walls, one of which is a structural exterior wall (thick) and picks up the signal with no problem. I can't get WiFi in the same place, so the signal strength is pretty strong.
